Trevor Wienert, a Byron Bay resident and founder of Avalon Home Care, with over 30 years’ experience providing people support and development services, saw a real need in the community for in-home care that was not only professional, reliable, and flexible, but also genuinely caring and personal. Companionship and conversation are at the heart of our values, along with providing first-class home care services.

Whilst looking to engage home care support for his mother, Trevor quickly noticed a real need for a personalised and professional service. Combining this desire with a genuine ambition to improve the lives of people in similar circumstances, Avalon Home Care was formed.

Tara Fitzgibbon, a long-term Byron Bay resident for over 28 years has joined Avalon Home Care as its inaugural Client Care Manager. Tara has spent a lifetime providing professional care and support to people facing challenges in life. Tara met Trevor whilst being a caregiver to his 93 year old mum, Shirl. Tara’s kind and authentic nature left such an impression on Shirl, it became the highlight of her holiday. Tara has a calm and compassionate nature that immediately makes people feel comfortable and at ease.

Peta Lang, Avalon Home Care’s Compliance and Marketing Manager, brings over 20 years of experience in education, compliance, human rights and disability advocacy to the table. As a proud East Ballina local with a deep understanding of healthcare systems, Peta seamlessly blends empathy with professionalism, ensuring that families feel reassured by Avalon’s compassionate and high standard of care.
